Egads! It’s Been That Long?!

*coughs on dust*

Wow, my previous blog post was in November, 2007?! Is it really 2010 or have people been telling me lies all this time?

No, it’s really been more than three years since I last updated the blog. Sorry, Mukgufied and (whatever is left of) its readership. I was occupied with school, and then after graduation, with work and other stuff. Add on to all that is my baseline laziness and lack of motivation to blog. But, I’m feeling inspired again so I’m back.

Does anyone still read this blog? *curious*

Long Time No Blog

It’s been awhile since my last entry, hasn’t it? When school began back in May, I told myself that I would put off watching k-dramas for a year so that I could focus on my studies. That, in turn, would leave me with very little to blog about and plus, time is a luxury for me so that’s why there hasn’t been any new site update. Well, although school is still crazy and having enough time to sleep and eat is a hard task, I’ve come to realize that vowing to give up k-dramas completely and actually being able to do it are two different things. Perhaps, the plan to stop watching them altogether was too ambitious for me. The drama world is the fun and fantastical world where I can get away from and momentarily forget about the stress and unhappiness of everyday life.

In order to attend this program, I had to move far away from home to another city and am feeling homesick almost everyday. Living in a new environment and trying to adapt to it while at the same time, missing my family and friends like crazy makes the process all the more difficult. And if watching an episode of a drama that I enjoy makes me feel better, how could I give up something that brings me so much joy and help the time pass by a little quicker, right? Right.

And so, here I am, back to blogging, downloading, watching, and subtitling.

Currently watching

The two shows that I’m following at the moment are Bad Couple and the recently premiered Coffee Prince.

I’m also trying to catch up on Thank You because it comes highly recommended by many people. However, given the genre that the drama is in, I’m probably not going to be finishing it soon since I need comedy and light entertainment more than the heavy melodrama in Thank You.

I’ve heard and read alot of great things about Flowers for My Life (mainly from javabeans’ blog). This one, I’m saving to marathon when the subtitle project is complete.

Hello

Yup, nursing school began on Monday and to say the least, I’m very overwhelmed and stressed. Well, it’s not like it’s unexpected since the program is three years compacted into one. I have to wake up before sunrise and there’s barely enough time to eat and sleep.

I’m sad that I can’t blog as often as before since blogging and talking about k-drama and entertainment with people who share the same interest is fun. I’ll still check the blog and respond to comments and questions but updates/new entries will be infrequent. Also, if you come across any good new shows or interesting entertainment tibits, please do share them with me using the comment option on this entry or the shoutbox feature. Thanks in advance.

In the mean time, there are a gazillion of entertainment blogs out there for your reading pleasure. Some are excellent, while others are… Anyway, the good ones are on the side, under “blogroll.” Enjoy!

p.s. Hi chel and Jill! Thanks for dropping by and for the warm wish.

Old or New?

New banner!

With the size reduction of the new banner, I find that designing new ones is a little easier. And me with my elementary photoshop skill, I appreciate that.

I like the previous banner too, as it features one of my favorite pictures of one of my favorite men, Song Il Gook. However, I created the new banner because a fellow k-drama watcher said that the blog isn’t really “mukgu-fied” without snow. Also, I feel bad for disappointing those who voted for the original layout by (temporarily?) switching to this one. So there it is. Although the snow theme might be a bit out of place since summer is approaching, who cares, right? Here at Mukgu-fied, it “snows” all year-round. But if it gets too cold in here and I miss Mr. Song, then you’ll see his sexy and smoking hot side profile again. Heh.

Anyway…

Thus far, the number of people who like the old layout is about the same as those who prefer the new design. Some like the old one because of the huge LDH banner and its colorful and distinctive look while others said that the new template looks cleaner and more artsy. (Thank you everyone for your input.) As for me, I like both.

I like the Blogger one because Blogger is more user-friendly and easier to navigate whereas WordPress has a lot more options, which can be positive but also negative because things aren’t where I expect them to be when I need them. One of the options in WordPress that I like is being able to password-protect certain entries. Also, there are more layout designs to choose from in WordPress.

One thing that I don’t like about WordPress is that I can’t embed music files from imeem and radioblogclub. Well, actually two things. The second dislike is that I can’t edit the template’s code unless I purchase the CSS upgrade. In contrast, in Blogger, I can edit to my heart’s content, although that’s not necessarily a good thing because heaven knows I’ve made a mess of things several times before.

Oh, one more thing. The shoutbox is still there, but it’s now a link on the sidebar, which if you click on it, the shoutbox will pop open in a new page.

To sum up, I think what I’ll end up doing is post new entries here for a while to see how I like it and use the one at Blogger for media files that aren’t allowed in WordPress. So the Blogger isn’t going anywhere, for those who are concerned about it disappearing from the blog world.

Hmm… Come to think of it, there are quite a few changes. So it’s understandable that several people don’t like this layout. Nonetheless, please bear with me, everyone. 🙂

Testing to see if this works. If it does, woo hoo!

Lack of Updates

For the regular visitors of this blog who were disappointed with the recent lack of updates, I sincerely apologize. I was accepted to an accelerated nursing program and will be attending it in May. And so, in addition to work, I was busy with completing all the required paperwork and travelling down to the school to take care of business. Thus, blog updates will occur on an ocassional basis, instead of regularly. Once again, to those who care, I apologize.

Below are some goodies from the latest K-dramas, namely, Que Sera Sera and Witch Amusement. Enjoy!

Que Sera Sera MV

The song played in the MV is called “Bless You” by Loveholic. To download it, please click here. (Special thanks to yeohweping and javabeans)

The Complete Witch Amusement OST

I’ll Be MIA…

I’m going down to LA for an interview so I’ll be away for 2-3 days. I’m gonna drive down there with a friend for the first time… I’m excited but also nervous. Hopefully, we won’t get lost too much coz the two of us together equals little to no sense of direction. Anyone interested in reading about my “adventures” once I get back? I don’t have a digital camera, so if I do yap about the trip, you’re just gonna have to use your imagination.

Anyway, I was making a mix CD for my trip and these songs brought back good memories. Enjoy these clips!

This movie is cliche to the max. However, I enjoyed it thanks to the beautiful countryside scenery and the charms of its leading actor and actress.
